HALO® Laser Skin Resurfacing

If you want to restore your skin’s healthy glow, reduce discoloration, and smooth fine lines and wrinkles, HALO laser skin resurfacing is an excellent choice. It is the first fractional laser to simultaneously deliver fractional ablative and non-ablative wavelengths, effectively improving the skin without the harsh effects of other laser treatments. We offer HALO skin resurfacing for people from Hartford, Connecticut, Springfield and Longmeadow, Massachusetts, and surrounding areas who want long-lasting rejuvenation.

How Does HALO Work?

During your treatment, ablative wavelengths treat the skin’s surface to improve tone and texture. At the same time, non-ablative wavelengths penetrate the deeper layers to spur collagen production, improve the skin’s structure, and generate healthy new skin cells.

The treatment can be customized, delivering more aggressive laser energy so you can achieve your desired results in 1 or 2 treatments, or it can be gentler for reduced downtime.

What Skin Concerns Can You Improve With HALO?

You can improve the following skin concerns and enjoy smoother, more radiant skin for a “HALO glow.”

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Sun damage
  • Scarring
  • Hyperpigmentation and pigmented lesions
  • Discoloration
  • Skin texture issues and large pores
  • Aging signs

The treatment can also reduce the appearance of acne scars.

Can You Combine Other Laser Treatments With HALO?

Our patients achieve excellent results by combining HALO with BroadBand light treatments such as BBL HERO®. BBL HERO uses advanced intense pulse light (IPL) technology to address pigmentation, acne, skin redness, and more. Your provider will advise you if it’s a good idea to combine laser skin treatments based on your skin type and concerns.

What To Expect

HALO has a built-in cooling system to keep you comfortable during your treatment. Still, we will use a topical numbing cream for enhanced comfort. Most patients feel a prickling sensation on their skin from the laser but usually find it very tolerable.

Most patients need 1 to 2 HALO sessions spaced 6 weeks apart for the best results. You can opt for more treatments depending on your skin concerns.

Recovery

HALO requires only minimal downtime, and you typically can resume your regular routine according to your preferences.

Your skin will be red and swollen immediately after treatment and take on a rough, sandpaper-like texture by Day 2 or 3. Within days, the skin will peel, revealing fresh new skin underneath.

Results

You will see noticeable improvement in pigmentation and skin quality in 5 – 7 days.  Because HALO laser treatments stimulate collagen growth the regenerative phase can continue for several months. Results can last several years, depending on your skin health and how you maintain your results. To preserve your results, stay out of the sun as much as possible, apply sunscreen daily, and follow an effective skincare routine.
