Breast Lift

While a woman’s feelings about her breasts can play a significant role in her self-image, even breasts that were once beautiful can become saggy over time. Weight changes, childbirth, and gravity all can cause the breasts to stretch and look deflated. Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Glen Brooks performs breast lift surgery at his Springfield practice to give women a more youthful, renewed breast shape.

To find out if breast lift surgery could be right for you, request a consultation online with Dr. Brooks or call his office on the Longmeadow Town Green at (413) 565-4400. Patients visit him from Springfield, Hartford, and other Western Massachusetts cities.

Your Improvements

In addition to his impressive results, Dr. Brooks is the choice for breast lift surgery because of his special attention to patient care. He takes the time to get to know each patient and understand the improvements she’d like to see. Women of all ages seek breast lift surgery for a variety of improvements, which commonly include:

  • Lifting and sculpting sagging breasts
  • Enhancing the results of breast augmentation surgery
  • Reducing the size of the areolas
  • Redirecting nipples that point downwards
  • Increasing self-confidence both in and out of clothing

Breast lift surgery won’t make your breasts fuller, although they might appear that way without the excess, loose skin. To fill out breast volume, Dr. Brooks usually recommends breast augmentation and breast implants for women who want to increase the size of their breasts.

After having children, many women visit Dr. Brooks for a Mommy Makeover to help restore their shape and their self-confidence. He can customize a set of procedures by combining a breast lift with other cosmetic procedures, such as a tummy tuck or liposuction for a more complete improvement.

What to Expect

Dr. Brooks performs breast lift surgery as an outpatient procedure while the patient is under general anesthesia. While you will likely be able to return home after the surgery, you will need to have someone drive you and help you out for a few days.

Breast Lift Recovery

For the first 3 to 4 weeks after surgery you will need to wear a surgical support bra to position your breasts properly and reduce swelling. Most patients can return to light activities, including work, after 7 to 10 days. More strenuous activities should be avoided for about a month.

Just improving the shape of your breasts can have a considerable impact on your self-confidence, in addition to helping you look more attractive. Breast lift surgery is especially rewarding because your enhanced shape will be noticeable right away, although there will likely be some swelling and bruising for the first 1 to 2 weeks. While scars cannot be avoided, they are very thin and usually fade within the first year.
